Singaraja- Hindu Dharma Student Family (KMHD) Yowana Brahma Vidya University of Education Ganesha (Undiksha) again held a Hindu Quiz Competition (LCC-AH) throughout Bali for junior and senior high schools. The semifinals and finals were held at the Undiksha Auditorium Building, Sunday (2/2/2020).
This activity was opened by the Director General of Hindu Community Guidance (Dirjen Bimas), Prof. Ketut Widnya, MA, M.Phil, Ph.D. who was accompanied by the Advisory Coordinator of KMHD YBV Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Made Sutama, M.Pd. who also handed over the Rotational Cup to the Director General of Hindu Community Guidance at the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia.
In his remarks, Sutama who also represented the Chancellor of Undiksha expressed his appreciation to the management of KMHD YBV for being able to maintain the continuity of the LCC at the SMA and SMP levels which has been held every year. “The Religious Quiz Competition for the high school level is the 12th, while the junior high school level is only the 3rd this year. I hope that this LCC can be a motivator for Hindu youth to learn more about the teachings of Hinduism,” he said. Not to forget, the Indonesian Language Education lecturer expressed his high appreciation to the Director General of Hindu Community Guidance who had supported this event including preparing the Rotating Cup which the participants continued to fight over.
Meanwhile, Ketut Widnya hopes that this activity can help build the character of Hindu youth. He is very aware that building character is not easy and takes a long time. “This activity is very important. With this LCC, it can be a reason to study the teachings of Hinduism and help build the character of Hindu youth so that we have a quality and competitive generation,” he added. He even emphasized that the LCC-AH was one of the competitions that contributed to the development of Human Resources.
In this event, 25 semifinalists from each junior and senior high school level participated. Each level has participated in the selection held in 5 different districts. For this year, a student of SMP Negeri 1 Mengwi, I Putu Naresha Aranjuanastawa won 1st place and brought the Director General of Hindu Guidance Rotation Cup for the first time. Meanwhile, the 2nd winner was won by a student from SMP Negeri 1 Singaraja, Luh Shinta Pradnyani, and the 3rd winner was won by SMP Negeri 2 Dawan, Komang Tegar Bramasta.
Meanwhile for the high school level, Kadek Edy Sukarma, a student of Singaraja 1 Public High School, successfully defended the Rotation Cup by winning 1st place. 2nd place was won by Wayan Gede Adi Suastawan from Singaraja 4 State High School and 3rd place, by I Komang Aan Adi Ricardo from South Kuta 1 Public High School. It is hoped that these participants will not only pursue potential champions but how participants can build quality and competitive Hindu Youth characters so as to make a positive contribution to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.
