Singaraja- Thousands of new students from Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) took part in the Widya Sabha held by the Undiksha Hindu Dharma Yowana Brahma Vidya (KMHD-YBV) Student Family, on Sunday (25/9/2023). Through this activity, students are invited to become a generation that is religious and has strong character.
This Widya Sabha event is intended for Hindu students. Chair of the Committee, Gede Oka Restu Pratama, explained that this series of activities was carried out over two days and was attended by 2,158 students. On the first day, activities were performed as well as an introduction to the KMHD YBV Undiksha organization. On the second day, material was provided related to strengthening the ethics and morality of the Hindu religion. This session presented two speakers, namely Undiksha academics, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Santyasa, M.Si who has graduated as Ida Pandita Mpu Acharya Dharma Widya Jaya Kerti, and Dr. Komang Indra Wirawan, S.Sn., M.Fil.H is an artist and academic in the arts.
Meanwhile, KMHD YBV Undiksha Advisory Coordinator, Prof. Dr. I Made Sutama, M.Pd, who opened the event on behalf of the Chancellor of Undiksha, said that this widya sabha was to provide initial provision regarding the teachings of Hinduism and the KMHD YBV Undiksha organization. It is hoped that this will generate interest in students to join and then become active as part of the KMHD YBV Undiksha organization to support Undiksha in forming students who are not only intelligent but also religious. “So, through KMHD, Undiksha can produce students who have strong character,” he said.
The challenges facing this organization are increasing. Therefore, Prof. Sutama assesses that the management’s work is increasingly complicated to maintain continuity and continuity for members. Thus, as envisioned by the vision of KMHD YBV Undiksha, the program designed and implemented is expected to focus on members’ self-development and then target the implementation of teachings, including community service.
