Having the status of a student means you don’t have to always struggle to produce work according to your major. But it could also be others. Like Jaswanto. A student majoring in Economic Education, Undiksha Faculty of Economics. In the midst of his busy work on college assignments, he was able to produce a novel. A work that is usually identical is born from someone majoring in literature or languages.
Since 2017, there have been three novels “born” from his thoughts. First, titled “Munajat Hati”. Second, “Cangkruk Dukun Karangbinangun: A Novel against Patriarchy”, and third, “Life is a Comedy for People Who Want to Think”. His work is quite popular among readers, especially among students.
His work has been read by many people. However, this student who was born in Tuban, East Java admitted that he had doubts about this. Anxiety still prevails. There is even a feeling of pessimism about being published. “But I still try to create and express my thoughts. Until it can be published,” he said.
In producing the best work, Jaswanto adheres to the principle of never stopping the process and don’t be afraid to be different. For him, a major is not a limitation for students to work. If it is beneficial for yourself and others, according to him it should be done. Get rid of the doubts that bind you. Likewise in writing. He considers it a freedom that every individual has. Without any prohibitions, without any coercion, or limitations. Through writing, according to him, many people can also be known. “By writing I feel free to imagine, for example. “So by writing I feel like I have my own world,” he added. (Dziky)
