At the celebration of Undiksha’s XXVI Anniversary, apart from being enlivened by competitions in sports, it was also enlivened by competitions in arts. On the 5th day of Undiksha’s XXVI Anniversary (Saturday, 12/01/2019) a Balinese Dance Competition was held. The Balinese Dance Competition was held by the Undiksha Regional Arts UKM at the Undiksha Auditorium Building. In this Balinese Dance competition, there are two categories of dance being contested, namely Tenun Dance and Wiranjaya Dance.
Each faculty sends a group of dancers for the Tenun Dance, consisting of 3 people, and for the Wiranjaya Dance, namely 2 people. The “soft” dance movements are the characteristic of Tenun Dance. However, the Wiranjaya Dance shows “sharp” expressions and “firm” dance movements. The performances from each faculty made the judges and audience focused and enthusiastic because of the cohesiveness of the dancers’ movements.
Before the announcement of the winners, the audience was entertained by the “sweet and melodious” performance of students from the Undiksha Regional Arts UKM. Based on the results of the jury’s discussion, the Bali Dance Competition championship was won by:
