Singaraja– Banjar Village, Buleleng Regency is one of the areas in North Bali that produces grapes. Agriculture is expected to be a sustainable source of income for the community in order to improve the economy. For this reason, students of the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) are also taking strategic steps through the innovillage program which is also a sociopreneurship competition in the field of digital technology through the collaboration of PT Telkom Indonesia with universities.
The team called the 98 Innoviilage team was chaired by I Made Bagus Alviantara from the Informatics Engineering Education Study Program. He was accompanied by I Putu Pandu Setiawan, S.Pd, and guided by Dr. I Nyoman Tika, M.Sc. He explained that the idea to roll out this program departed from the results of observations and interviews in the field. As a result, Banjar Village has tremendous potential in agriculture, especially grapes. However, when the main harvest arrives, the selling price of grapes often declines. This sparked the idea to utilize the fruit in this hot area in various processed products, such as wine, juice, crackers, jam, and lunkhead which are all made from grapes. In addition, in order to maximize marketing, it was also initiated
KEDAI WINE e-Commerce which is now ready on various platforms.
“Our team has been able to embrace KWT mothers in creating five types of market-fit products and we have marketed them online and offline we plan to launch later this year at Karang Kupit Lovina,” Alvin explained, Monday (6/12/2021).
During the initial implementation phase, KWT was trained in making processed products such as wine, juice, crackers, lunkhead, and grape jam. At this stage, a series of experiments were carried out to obtain a product with the distinctive taste of local grapes. The second stage, creating a Wine Shop website to help market the products produced. Marketing is also done by utilizing the marketplace. “These products have been able to attract market interest, even those who have ordered a lot, especially wine and juice, which are very delicious and rich in benefits,” he explained.
The Chairperson of the Banjar Village Wine Farming Women’s Group, Luh Fitriani, expressed her appreciation for the implementation of this program. “We would like to thank the Undiksha Innovillage Team for helping develop grapes into five kinds of products and ask for continued cooperation so that they can develop even further,” he said.
A positive response also came from the Head of Banjar Village, Ida Bagus Edy Suyasa. He conveyed the need to use grapes in various preparations and be able to market them properly, especially in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. The reason is quite a lot of people who lost their jobs. “I really appreciate Undiksha students who had this very good WINE KEDAI idea to contribute to our village, Banjar Village, especially in making various preparations and marketing them online and offline later. Hopefully, in the future the village community and KWT Amertha Nadi will continue this excellent program and be able to improve the farmers’ economy,” he concluded.
Deputy Chancellor for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Public Relations of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd., conveyed that student participation in the Innovillage program is a form of real contribution to participating in dealing with problems in society. This is important as capital to increase competitiveness. “Students don’t only do activities on campus. But they also have to take part in overcoming problems in society,” he said. (hms)
