Singaraja- The creativity of Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) students continues to grow. Various products that provide benefits to society have been successfully made. The latest is IoT (Internet of Things) based tools and the web. This work helps the process of assessing physical fitness in the material of reaction speed.
The innovation called the “Reaction Speed Test” was designed by a team consisting of Gede Artha Juniadi, Gede Pujana from the Informatics Engineering Education Study Program, and Gede Aditya Sahaditama from the Electrical Engineering Education Study Program. This tool offers convenience for teachers, namely, there is no need to use stopwatches and stationery to record the results of time data obtained by students because tools and the web can do this task. The teacher only prepares the tools and also enters student attendance into the web, then calls students one by one to carry out an assessment and the results of the time data obtained by students can be directly converted into a value output form. “The advantages of the tools developed include the time needed for teachers to make assessments faster,” explained Artha Juniadi as team leader, Monday (27/9/2021).
The tool that has been tested at SMPN 1 Singaraja was also included in the Student Digital Innovation Competition (LIDM) held by the Puspresnas Education Digital Technology Innovation Division (ITDP) from 17 to 19 September 2021 and won the first prize. The creation of this work cannot be separated from the role of supervisors consisting of Gede Aditra Pradnyana, S.Kom., M.Kom., Gede Saindra Santyadiputra, S.T., M.Cs., Gede Widayana, S.T., M.T., Agus Aan Jiwa Permana, S. Kom., M.Cs., Ketut Udi Ariawan, S.T., M.T., and Dr. Nyoman Santiyadnya, S.Si., M.T. “The preparation for making this work took 7 months. One month we conducted observations and interviews in advance to see the problems experienced in the assessment process. After that, we carried out the tool design stage and also made the web, which took about 6 months to carry out the tool testing stage that had been made,” explained Artha Juniadi.
In particular, he conveyed his impression of his success in winning the first prize after competing with many participants. Very happy and proud. This achievement is expected to be a motivator for achieving better achievements in the next event. “We hope that this will provide valuable experience to continue the spirit of achievement to realize meaningful goals,” he added.
Undiksha Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Public Relations, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd., gave his appreciation for the work that was made and the achievements that had been achieved. “We appreciate the creativity and competitive spirit of the students.
