Singaraja- Chancellor of the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha), Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., inaugurated the Student Consultative Council (MPM) and Student Executive Board of the Republic of Students (BEM-REMA) for the 2020-2021 period at the Undiksha Auditorium, Sunday (27/7/2020).
Based on the decision of the Chancellor of the Ganesha University of Education Number 2068/UN48/KM/2020, the position of Student President is Made Vera Yanti, and Student Vice President, is Putu Indah Sonia Dewi. Meanwhile, for MPM, the general chairperson is Dewa Made Riyan Gunawan, according to the decision of the Chancellor of the Ganesha University of Education Number 2090/UN48/KM/2020.
After the inauguration, the Chancellor of Jampel revealed that the university had high hopes for the new management of this organization to jointly make Undiksha better and more competitive. The program that will be rolled out later must be in line with Undiksha’s vision to become a superior university based on the Tri Hita Karana philosophy in Asia in 2045. “Then this activity must be in accordance with the Chancellor’s work agreement with the Minister, in accordance with Ban-PT in order to increase accreditation,” he explained.
Delivered further, every year the university participates in the Student Ranking Information System ranking. Achievements in the areas of interest, talent, and reasoning are one of the supporters. In this case, students have a role to participate in competitions, besides organizing relevant activities. “In 2019, students have made many achievements. I’m very proud of that. I hope that it can continue to be improved so that Undiksha’s ranking can continue to be good,” he said.
The administrators are considered the chosen ones. They are expected to be a generation with characters, characterizing Indonesian characters. Besides that, they always build togetherness to make the program successful. “I hope that all of them will surpass the achievements in the areas of interest, talent, and reasoning that have been achieved,” said the Chancellor from Nusa Dua, Badung Regency.
The challenges in the midst of the industrial revolution 4.0 are increasingly complex. Facing that, students are also asked to continue to improve competence, one of which is in the field of foreign languages which can increase competitiveness. “With this, it will also have an impact on increasing university competitiveness,” he added.
The rector’s directive, by the student president, Vera Yanti, was very much supported. According to him, the presence of student organizations cannot be separated from the policies set by the university in development. He also stated that he carried out innovative activities. “As of now during the Covid-19 pandemic, we are trying to make virtual-based activities. That’s one of the innovations we plan to do,” she said. (hms)
