Singaraja- The Board of Management of the Student Consultative Council (MPM) and the Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Student Republic (REMA) of Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) for the 2023-2024 service period were appointed by the Rector of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Lasmawan, M.Pd., Thursday (22/6/2023). The management of this student organization was invited to jointly realize Undiksha asInternasional Reputable University in Education and Leadership (IRUEL).
This inauguration was carried out directly in the Undiksha Rectorate Room Ganesha III, witnessed by the university and faculty-level leaders. The position of Chairperson of MPM is held by Komang Ayu Laras Swati, Deputy Chairperson I, I Kadek Pradhita Ciwa Radhitya, and Deputy Chairperson II, Kadek Puspa Dewi. Meanwhile, the position of President of BEM REMA Undiksha is held by Ketut Yudi Darma Saputra with Deputy, Made Pasek Dwi Temaja.
Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Lasmawan conveyed that student involvement in student organizations is a space for self-learning and developing their interests, talents, and potential. This is very important as a provision to face the era of disruption. “Don’t get the impression that by being organized, education is hampered,” he said.
Delivered further, Undiksha as a component of the nation, in the next four years in accordance with the Chancellor’s vision, it is desired to become an IRUEL campus. This means that it is hoped that Undiksha will be able to produce established resources in the field of education and in the field of leadership. Leadership in question is giving birth to a generation that is at least able to lead itself. “Intent of leadership I think that is how a person can become a minimum leader for himself before he leads people outside of himself, “he explained.
In line with this, MPM REMA and BEM REMA were invited to jointly realize Undiksha as IRUEL. Likewise, jointly making achievements that can increase Undiksha’s competitiveness in the future. Through this opportunity, he also reminded students not to always be followers, but to be able to become inspirational figures and become figures to be followed.
In carrying out the management for the next year, Prof. Lasmawan also invited MPM REMA and BEM REMA to always communicate well in solving problems. In fact, he is very open if invited to discuss directly. “Please use polite, objective, and effective methods. I ask students, especially the management of MPM and BEM REMA Undiksha, to prove their intelligence to be able to bring Undiksha even better in the future,” he concluded.
Undiksha BEM REMA Student President, Yudi Darma Saputra said he was ready to collaborate with the leadership to jointly make Undiksha better. In his leadership, he designed a flagship program, namelyRespons, and Action. This program accommodates problems, suggestions, and input from students to be channeled to the leadership.
The leadership program will also be carried out through Basic Student Management Training and Ganesha Leadership. “This is to facilitate students so that they can hone their leadership skills and together realize Undiksha’s vision,” he explained.
The general chairman of MPM REMA Undiksha, Ayu Laras Swati, conveyed the same thing. He will provide support in advancing Undiksha and guarding student aspirations. It offers flagship programs and roadshows to Faculty. “We will hold a discussion regarding the aspirations that we will convey to the rectorate and we will carry it out with BEM REMA,” he said.
In the midst of this inauguration ceremony, thanks were also conveyed to the management of the MPM and BEM REMA for the 2022-2023 service period for their dedication and contribution to the development of the university. It is hoped that his contribution and support will continue. (hms)
