Singaraja- The inauguration of the management of the Student Representative Council of the Republic of Students (MPM-REMA) of Ganesha Education University (Undiksha) for the 2019/2020 period took place in the Seminar Room of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences (FHIS), Tuesday (23/4/2019). This Student Organization (Ormawa) is encouraged to contribute to improving university rankings, both at national and international levels. This was emphasized by the Vice Chancellor for Student and Alumni Affairs, Dr. I Gusti Ngurah Pujawan, M.Kes.
The former Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MIPA) Undiksha said that improving university rankings is not only borne by the heads of institutions and faculties. Ormawa who are part of the academic community also have an obligation to do so. One way is to organize activities at a minimum provincial level. “This is what we want MPM to do. Can create activities from a provincial to an international scale. Can provide additional value to the university. “No longer are activities only at the district level,” he said.
Collaboration with Ormawa from other universities is also considered necessary and ongoing. This step is acknowledged to have been taken by a number of Ormawa. “This has been done by BEM and several study programs. We also encourage Student Activity Units (UKM) to be like that. “We can invite participants from other universities,” he explained. On that occasion, it was also emphasized that students who are members of the organization must continue to be able to demonstrate their qualities, including completing their studies on time. “From organizations, you can also hone soft skills,” he added.
For your information, the Chair of the MPM for the 2019/2020 period is Komang Dhira Pannavira. This FHIS Law Studies Study Program student replaces Dziky Muhamad Nurcholif who served for the 2018/2019 period. After carrying out the handover of positions, Dhira Pannavira admitted that he was trying to make MPM better. He and his members have prepared a number of programs. Among other things, drafting a Law on Organizational Position Structure which is considered to provide legal certainty for Ormawa. There was also a revision of the General Election Law, following the establishment of the Faculty of Medicine. “We will also form a Faculty Student Representative Council (DPMF) to speed up communication,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Muhamad Nurcholif hopes that MPM can be better than before and be able to produce innovative programs that can raise the institution’s grade. “Hopefully the future will get better and we can help build institutions,” he said. (hms)
