Singaraja– The Community Service Program (P2M) implemented by academics at the University of Education of Ganesha (Undiksha) is not only limited to the field of learning but also the field of tourism. As did the team consisting of Dr. Syarif Hidayat, M.Pd, I Ketut Chandra Adhinata, M.Pd, Ni Made Dwi Sucidartini, M.Pd, and Dr. Luh Putu Tuti Ariani, M. Fis., who is working on the natural potential of Panji Anom Village, Sukasada District, Buleleng.
Syarif Hidayat explained that Panji Anom Village, which is included as a watershed for the Sudamala River, has extraordinary natural potential, such as expanses of rice fields with terraces. Apart from that, it is also supported by the cultural potential that is still well maintained by the people, such as the traditional game of magoak-goakan. Therefore, there needs to be support for tourism awareness groups (Pokdarwis) to be able to manage this potential to the fullest. “The potential is very supportive of the development of sports tourism. So we provide training to Pokdarwis members to better utilize their regional potential. This activity is a follow-up to the collaboration between the Buleleng Regency Government and Undiksha in developing areas in the Sudamala Watershed (DAS), “he explained on the sidelines of giving training, Sunday (19/7/2020).
The training focuses on preparing activities and promoting sports tracking, which are directed to be based on information technology. In this way, the reach of information to tourists can be more comprehensive. “This promotion can use interesting videos or photos,” he said.
Tourism development based on local wisdom is expected to improve the economy of the community and the village. Assistance will be carried out on an ongoing basis, with the hope that the tourism business in this mountainous area will be more competitive. “We hope this program can provide maximum results for the village,” he concluded.
