The excitement of a series of Undiksha Anniversary events is still ongoing. On Sunday (13/01) a Group Vocal Competition was held for the 26th Undiksha Anniversary which took place at the Undiksha Auditorium Building. This activity was attended by 6 participants appointed by each faculty. In this activity, the vocal group participants performed the mandatory song, namely “Ketut Garing” and performed the song chosen by each participant.
All participants have presented their performances as fully as possible. However, in every competition, there are bound to be winners and losers. Likewise, in this vocal group competition, the 3 best participants from faculty representatives were selected to become champions. Before the announcement of the vocal group champion, the UKM Bahana Suara Ganesha Choir UKM committee provided entertainment for the audience present and one of the judges also gave advice to the competition participants. “I convey several things as a reference for future competitions.
First, all the groups performed using gamelan even though it was not required. One disadvantage of performing using the gamelan is that the basic notes are set by the gamelan. So there were many participants whose basic notes were quite low because they were tied to gamelan tones. In the future, look for a gamelan that is in harmony with the vocalist’s basic notes. Second, there is still not enough use of the microphone. “So the technique of using the microphone needs to be improved,” he said to all the participants. The final results for the vocal group competition for the 26th Anniversary of Undiksha from the assessment and decision by the jury were announced that FE succeeded in reaching the podium in 1st place followed by FBS in 2nd place and FHIS as 3rd place.
