Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) pays attention to outstanding students and lecturers in the fields of reasoning, interests, and talents. This superior accredited tertiary institution gives awards, Monday (22/11/2021). This step is also a motivation for the academic community to continue the spirit of achievement, especially at the international level.
This award is specifically given to the 2020 achievement winners. The achievements of students consist of various competitions, at both national and international levels. The forms also vary, ranging from written works, innovations, business plans, information technology, sports, arts and culture, and so on. Apart from that, there were also events from the Student Creativity Program (PKM) and the Holistic Village Empowerment and Development Program (PHP2D). Meanwhile, specifically for lecturers, awards are given for their role as supervisors. A special award was also given to Undiksha’s Deputy Chancellor for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Public Relations, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd., for his commitment to building Undiksha through student programs.
Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., who was present at the occasion said that this award was a form of Undiksha providing motivation to students and supervisors to be able to maintain and improve the achievements that have been achieved. “The award given at this time also has assistance. But the assistance is not comparable to what they have done. I’m sure younger students, lecturer supervisors, and Vice Chancellor III don’t see how much they get, but how committed the institution is in giving awards, giving recognition for achievements,” he said accompanied by the Deputy Chancellor for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Public Relations, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd.
Through this activity, it is hoped that it can further lift the enthusiasm of all Undiksha stakeholders to keep fighting, continue to work carefully, and have the courage to take part in both national and international competitions. Currently, Undiksha’s achievements at the national level are considered extraordinary and proud. The campus, which will be celebrating its 29th anniversary, is ranked 23rd in the Student Program Rating System (Simkatmawa) and also ranked 7th in Key Performance Indicators (IKU) from 33 higher education institutions, the Public Service Agency (BLU). “If we do the math, we are ranked 23rd nationally because, above public services, there are universities with legal entities. That is an extraordinary achievement. Besides that, there is also Gemnastik. In my opinion, it is only natural that we have to think internationally, because in 2020 and 2019 we have collected many international achievements,” said Jampel.
This achievement, he continued, is very important in order to realize Undiksha’s big aspirations to become an International Reputable University in Education and Leadership and accelerate realizing the vision of becoming a superior university based on the philosophy of Tri Hita Karana in Asia in 2045. “That means we have to move internationally to realize Undiksha’s vision to become an Excellent University Based on the Tri Hita Karana Philosophy in Asia in 2045. This (achievement, ed) is a step taken to achieve Undiksha’s vision more quickly,” he said.
On this occasion, the Chancellor, who had served as Dean of the Undiksha Faculty of Education, also invited students to continue to improve their competence in order to face competition in the 4.0 industrial revolution era. Besides that, the academic community is also invited to always maintain harmony framed by the philosophy of Tri Hita Karana. “Harmony is very important for building institutions. I hope this can be maintained by the academic community,” he concluded. (hms)
