Singaraja- National level achievements were again made by students of Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha). It came from the Brawijaya Entrepreneurship in Advanced Competition (BRAVO) event, which will peak on November 8, 2022.
The Undiksha team consisted of Ni Made Celin Darayani, Ketut Agus Oktariawan, and Komang Citra Pratiwi from the Law Study Program (S1), Made Ratyudhi Harpin Dipawangsa from Chemistry Study Program (S1), and Komang Trisna Ayu Widari from Accounting Study Program (S1). This team won 1st place after competing with participants from various universities in Indonesia.
At the event, the Undiksha team presented a work called BHATARA of Bali or Bag from Hata Recycling, a local Balinese product. This work is a product of woven bags made from the roots of the manon (hata/ate) plant, which is very commonly found in Bali, in the mountainous area of North Duda, Karangasem.
Team representative Celin Darayani explained that manon root is a type of creeping grass that has now become the raw material for making works of art or fashion that have economic value. “Utilizing natural resources will certainly create economic value from making this Bhatara of Bali,” she said, Wednesday (9/11/2022).
The uniqueness of this product is not only in the main ingredient in the form of manon root, but more than that. The product is also made with special Balinese dressings such as sandat-scented fragrance, woven shapes with Balinese carved patterns, and the packaging is inserted with dried frangipani (Japanese) flowers.
The student from Pancasari said that she and her team had made preparations from August to November 2022. Even though there were obstacles amidst preparation, but did not dampen his determination and strong enthusiasm, and he finally won the championship.
In the future, this team plans to participate in international competitions and collaborate with the Binus University team on a UV/UX design project. “We hope that what we have achieved can be continued by other students,” she said.
Vice rector for Student Affairs, Public Relations, and Alumni, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd., appreciated this achievement for being able to contribute to the Student Ranking Management System. “This is also important for students. Hopefully in the future more achievements will be achieved by Undiksha students,” he said. (hms)
