Singaraja- The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) Ganesha Education University (Undiksha) held a meeting of the Alumni Family Association (IKA), on Sunday (19/11/2023). Through this event, it is hoped that stronger synergy can be built to create an increasingly qualified faculty.
The hybrid alumni meeting was opened by the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Public Relations, and Alumni Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Ketut Sudiana, M. Kes. He welcomed the holding of this event. It was explained that there are four reasons underlying the importance of IKA, namely that alumni can play a role in providing real input and programs for the progress of the university, alumni have the potential and competence in building the opinion of the “good name” (image) of the alma mater, alumni as PT products can become important relations in expand networks, and alumni can become a source of information about the world of work and business for new graduates. Therefore, it is hoped that the synergy between alumni and universities and fellow alumni can continue and be further strengthened.
Through this opportunity, alumni are also invited to continue to increase their role in improving the quality of education and share ideas in developing curriculum and soft skill attributes needed in the world of work and society.
The theme raised at this alumni meeting was “Alumni Synergy in increasing the social-leadership entrepreneurial capacity of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences”. This theme was taken based on the fact that the success and glory of an educational institution cannot be separated from the role and synergy of its alumni. One of them is establishing sustainable collaboration in increasing institutional capacity and maintaining good relations between the institution and alumni.
This activity was attended by alumni from the Class of 1979 to the Class of 2014. The event included an academic seminar featuring two resource persons who were FMIPA Undiksha Alumni who had extraordinary skills and experience, namely Prof. Dr. Phill, I Gusti Putu Sudiarta, M.Si who is an active lecturer at FMIPA Undiksha and entrepreneur and Ari Anggara, S.Pd., M.Sc as a Batuan Workshop.
