Singaraja- MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) are one of the sectors that contribute to economic growth. However, the marketing and relations with creative workers had not been maximized. Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) students designed a platform to deal with this. In the 2021 Economic Festival held by the Student Association of Management Department, STIE PGRI Dewantara Jombang, the platform named “Karya” won second place, after competing with 31 teams from various universities in Indonesia.
The team consisted of I Gede Artha Wibawa from Study Program of Information Systems, Ni Kadek Anggun Purwita Sari from Study Program of Management and Ni Made Putri Oktadewi from Study Program of History Education. Friday (6/25/2021), Team Leader, Artha Wibawa explained, this platform was used to connect MSME actors with creative workers. The goal was to maximize market publication. This breakthrough was needed, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. The sustainability of the MSME sector to restore the economy must be maintained. “MSMEs have an important role in supporting the country’s economy. However, MSMEs have not been able to maximize the visual of their products. On the other hand, creative workers have not been able to maximize their market publication. So, a platform is needed to connect these two figures,” he explained.
They needed about one month to prepare this platform. This design was expected to be a product. Therefore, universities were expected to provide some supports. “With the ideas that we have created and designed, we hope for assistance from the university to help us in realizing this platform,” he hoped.
This team also won first place in the Business Plan Competition Management Festival 2021 which was held by the Student Association of Management Department, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Riau. The team, known as the FTGM team, designed an innovative platform to start and develop a business, to support the Indonesian economy.
This achievement was appreciated by the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Public Relations of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd., He also invited students to continue to achieve more achievements. Furthermore, the university was willing to assist in product development and product design that had been produced by students. “We expect that their products will be certified, we will help, such as intellectual property rights and patents,” he concluded.
