Singaraja- The Student Regiment (Menwa) of the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) held training on strengthening and post traditions. The opening took place, on Friday (12/7/2019). In line with that, the Student Activity Unit (UKM) is encouraged to be the front guard for the Undiksha academic community in defending the country. This was conveyed by the Supervisor, I Putu Gede Parma, S.St.Par., M.Par.
Deputy Dean II of the Undiksha Faculty of Economics stated that knowledge of defending the country is something that Menwa must have. In fact, it is mandatory to implement it. “They are required to have character. “Having national insight, love of the country, and being able to apply leadership patterns that will later become points when entering society and the world of work,” he stressed.
No less important, these SMEs must be able to synergize in supporting institutional programs. So far this has gone quite well. “In this training, they are given an understanding of the tasks they carry out. This includes being involved in activities and having to be ready to carry out the big task of being part of the people’s defense. Whenever needed they must be ready. “That’s why they are trained at the basic military level,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Commander of Menwa Undiksha, Ni Wayan Widnyani, said that the training, which lasted until Sunday, July 14, was an annual activity that new members had to take part in after receiving a purple beret from basic military training. “They have all passed basic military training. “Now I’m taking part in training to strengthen and strengthen post traditions,” he said. Through this, members are expected to better understand the duties they must carry out and continue to uphold the life of defending the country. “We hope that from this training, there will be an improvement in personal quality,” he added.
