Singaraja-The Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Sports and Health (BEM-FOK) of Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha held a Dean’s Cup for the sport of tennis. The event which took place on the central campus was attended by eight teams from the general public.
Head of BEM FOK, I Wayan Wisma Pratama Putra, explained that the event which is being held in glass is already in its 7th year. The number of participating teams increased from the previous year which was only six teams. It contains at least one athlete who has competed in the Bali Provincial Sports Week. “For each team, there are doubles and singles matches. All of these come from Buleleng Regency,” he explained during the match, Friday (11/10/2019). Delivered further, this event is not only to recruit reliable tennis athletes. But also establish friendships between teams, as well as introduce the campus to the general public. “Hopefully, through this, more and more enthusiasts will study at FOK,” he added.
The Dean of FOK, I Ketut Budaya Astra, S.Pd., M.Or, explained that this event was also to introduce tennis to the community because currently there are more people who think it is loved by certain circles. “From this, we want to popularize the sport of tennis,” he said. Apart from tennis, it is considered that there are a number of other sports that are possible to compete in. It is hoped that this will work on the next Dean Cup. In terms of facilities, Undiksha is quite supportive of that. “Of course, we hope that in the future there will be more sports to be competed in. Not only tennis,” he concluded. (hms)
