Singaraja– Attention to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on society from the academic community of the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) continues. After handing over the assistance from the leadership, now it is the turn of the Student Regiment Student Activity Unit to do the same thing. The targeted communities are scattered in Banyuseri Village, Banjar District, and Pakisan Village, Kubudindingan District. The distribution of aid took place on Wednesday (6/5/2020).
Deputy Commander of UKM Menwa Undiksha I Putu Agung Suardika explained that this community service was filled with the delivery of groceries to orphans, sinks, soap, and masks. In this activity, a healthy lifestyle was socialized as an effort to prevent Covid-19. “Before going into the community, we did monitoring. We hope this program can be of benefit,” he said.
Menwa Advisor, I Putu Gede Parma, S.St.Par., M.Par again emphasized the importance of maintaining public health and maintaining social distancing as one of the protocols to prevent the spread of Covid-19. “With the enthusiasm to maintain health together, I hope this pandemic can end soon. The government cannot work alone but there must be cooperation with the community,” he said.
Regarding the delivery of assistance, Parma stated that it was a form of responsibility from Undiksha in the field of community service. This assistance is expected to ease the burden on the community and village government. On this occasion, he also provided motivation to orphans to keep fighting for their education even in the midst of a relatively difficult situation. Established educators are believed to be the provision to create a better quality of life. “We want these children to continue to enjoy education,” he said.
Headman of Banyuseri, I Nyoman Sukadana appreciated the implementation of this program. The assistance that was distributed was considered useful for the community and the village. “We thank Undiksha for providing this assistance,” he said. (hms)
