Singaraja- Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKM) Academic Year 2023/2024 Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) was closed, on Tuesday (22/8/2023) afternoon. After officially becoming part of the biggest campus family in the North Bali expanse, students are invited to become an innovative and collaborative generation.
This closing was carried out by the Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Lasmawan, M.Pd which was marked by the use of an addresser’s suit for student representatives and the removal of the kayonan that was stuck during the opening ceremony. The atmosphere is very lively and full of familiarity. This event was also filled with cultural arts performances presented by Undiksha’s leadership and students. The event was even more memorable when the leadership gave a rose to a number of students as a symbol of harmony.
Chancellor Prof. Lasmawan said that currently, the world is facing severe global problems due to the rapid progress of science and technology. For this reason, every person who exists and is in the tomb of life today must always be ready to compete, at least for the existence of himself and the self-sufficiency of his society. Therefore, the younger generation or students as the spearhead of change and reformers in society must be at the forefront of innovating and collaborating without boundaries in an effort to give more meaning to self and the society in which it grows. Because basically, every youth is a leader. This assertion is in line with inspirational wise sayings“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, you are a leader.” Because “As you get older, you will find that you have two hands, one to help yourself, the other to help others.”
“Through this opportunity, I would like to inspire young Ganeshas to always improve themselves and make themselves leaders, at least being able to lead themselves in formulating their future vision, mission, and strategy through a fun learning process at Undiksha, the second home of our shared pride, he asked.
Birth rectorBangli, February 21, 1967, further conveyed that these new students were proud to have become part of the Undiksha extended family. For this reason, he advised all of them to make tertiary institutions as a space or opportunity to always learn themselves and practice life skills. In addition, he also invites new students to develop life and future proposals through a series of academic and non-academic processes that will be obtained, both independently and in groups.“Success in the future will not only be the pride of the family but the nation and state will also be very lucky to have successful young generations born from Undiksha,” he said.
Through this opportunity, he also apologized if there were things that were unpleasant during the PKKMB activities. Appreciation was also given to the implementing committee, especially BEM REMA, MPM, and all of their staff for demonstrating such high commitment and loyalty so that all PKKMB activities were carried out well. From the whole series of PKKMB processes this year, he formulated a thesis that“Struggle will produce commitment, the process will produce goals, remember bro! A result never betrays the process that has preceded it.” he concluded.
For information, the PKKMB activity opened on August 15, 2023, and was attended by 3,049 participants consisting of 2,975 new students and 74 repeat students. The students are divided into eight faculties, namely the Faculty of Education, the Faculty of Languages and Arts, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences, the Faculty of Engineering and Vocational Studies, the Faculty of Sports and Health, the Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of Medicine.
