Singaraja- Leadership skills are very important for training skills and building one’s character, including for students. Realizing the importance of this, the Student Executive Board of the Republic of Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) students held the Ganesha Leadership Camp (GLC). The activity which took place at Wisma Nangun Kerti Pancasari Village, Sukasada District, Buleleng was opened, Tuesday (11/7/2023).
This activity was carried out for two days involving a number of students who are members of the Faculty BEM, Departmental Student Association (HMJ), and Student Activity Unit (UKM). The President of BEM REMA Undiksha, Ketut Yudi Darma Saputra explained that the leadership skills were given to the participants through outbound and program discussions. This activity is expected to build harmony between students and organizations as well as improve students’ communication skills. “We want to open hospitality so that in the future we can be in one frame, namely harmony and diversity,” he explained.
According to him, leadership skills are very important for students to have and need to be continuously developed. These skills can be used as provisions when plunging into the community. “Leadership skills are very important because we as the younger generation will become leaders in the future. This is to build a good soul, “he said.
In particular, he added regarding the program discussion, the matter discussed was the implementation of the Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) in 2023.
Deputy Chancellor for Student Affairs, Public Relations, and Undiksha Alumni, Prof. Dr. I Ketut Sudiana, M.Kes attended as well as opened the activity to convey leadership skills that are very important and need to be owned by students, especially those who are members of Student Organizations as a provision to enter society or the world of work later. Therefore, the implementation of this activity is given appreciation.
Apart from leadership, this activity was also filled with familiar activities. It is hoped that this moment will not only be filled with introductions between participants but also sharing information or experiences that are beneficial to oneself. He also stressed that the implementation of PKKMB needs to be supported by good communication with the leadership and related sections in order to anticipate problems. (hms)
