Singaraja- Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) awarded outstanding students in 2020. As a first step, awards were given to students who entered the National Student Scientific Week (PIMNAS) event. In addition, awards were also given by the Indonesian Student Art Development Board (BPSMI) Bali to participants on the National Student Art Week (PEKSIMINAS). The inauguration took place in Ganesha III Hall at the Rectorate by the Vice-REctor for Student Affairs, Alumni and Public Relations, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd., Thursday (17/12/2020).
Prof. Suastra appreciated students for being able to carry the name of Undiksha in competitions and reached achievements. It had a positive impact on universities, such as for Student Rating Information System (SIMKATMAWA) which takes place every year. These awards were given as an effort to encourage students to continue to be excellent. “Undiksha provides incentives for the PIMNAS Team who qualify for the national level because they have to compete with other universities. For PEKSIMINAS there is also an incentive from BPSMI. This is a form of appreciation to the students who have fought so hard,” he said.
Meanwhile, for other outstanding students, Suastra stated that the awards would be given in 2021. “We will award them medals and certificates, according to the championship level, such as regional, national and international. This is a trigger to motivate other students,” he explained.
One of the students who entered the PIMNAS event, I Gusti Agung Mirah Puspitayani welcomed this award positively. This Medical Faculty student also stated that this achievement was very important for institutions and study programs, one of which was for their accreditation. This award was used as a boost to achieve more achievements in other competitions. She also expected encouragement for students from the university to reach more achievement, both for national and international competitions. (PR)
