Singaraja– The Covid-19 pandemic did not dampen the enthusiasm of the Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) academic community to take part in the competition. One of them is the Arubalympics 2020 event which takes place from 5 to 14 August 2020. The Undiksha team managed to enter the national top ten and become “The Best Campus” out of 350 universities throughout Indonesia that participated in this prestigious event. It was confirmed, Tuesday (8/18/2020), Saindra Santyadiputra, who was the team leader, explained that at the event, his team took a series of online tests that took place in succession. The material is about future computer networks, with the theme “The Intelligence Campus Network 4.0”. The test is directly from the Aruba Networks Company, with 25 objective questions with a time limit of 20 minutes. “There are nine such tests, all done for nine days. We prepared for about three days,” he explained.
It was further stated that this was the first time participating in this event. He expressed his appreciation to the Association for Higher Education in Informatics and Computers (Aptikom) as the organizer of this national event. Aptikom cooperates with Industry, an international company in the field of Computer Networks, ARUBA NETWORKS, and offers competition with an Olympic-style gamification concept so that participants are very excited and enthusiastic to compete. “This is the first and most memorable experience for our team. After approximately two weeks of competing, the spirit of our team never subsided, very excited until the last day of competition,” he said.
Academics at the Faculty of Engineering and Vocational also feel proud of the achievements they have made. This is also inseparable from the support of the academic community. This achievement is expected to further raise the name of Undiksha, especially in the national arena. “This achievement is the result of hard work. In this event, Undiksha became “The Best Campus” out of a total of 350 Universities in Indonesia that took part. Then, we also represented the province of Bali getting 6th place with 5 gold medals, 8 silver, and 18 bronze. For the university category, Undiksha is ranked ninth nationally,” said Saindra.
This achievement did not satisfy him immediately. In the future there is still a target for ranking increases, even being the overall champion. “We are constantly trying to improve the quality,” he added. Appreciation was given by the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Alumni and Public Relations of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra M.Pd., for this achievement. “This achievement is extraordinary because in this condition our students and lecturers can still work and make achievements at the national level,” he said.
In an effort to improve achievement, the academic from Tojan Village, Klungkung Regency stated that he would make early preparations to face each competition, including coaching. “We also want to be able to take part in competitions to a higher level, both in Asia and internationally,” he concluded.
