Singaraja- When students graduate from college, they really want to be able to develop a career, both as job creators and working in a dream place or in an industry. So, in answering industrial bills, what things do students need to prepare early on?
Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) through the Cooperation and Public Relations Agency shared information about this through a seminar, Tuesday (2/5/2023). The seminar, which coincided with the commemoration of National Education Day (Hardiknas), was presented by the HRD Maya Resort Bali resource person, Kadek Agus Ambara. The material presented was quite interesting regarding the gap between industrial invoices and the quality of prospective workers. This special material for the field of tourism was enthusiastically listened to by students from the D4 Hospitality study program, D4 English Study Program, and the Family Welfare Education S1 Study Program.
Agus Ambara, who has been involved in the world of tourism for a long time, has various stories. He feels the world of the tourism industry is quite heavy and tough, in the sense that recruiting workers tends to get people who already have skills or expertise. At least know the basic skills learned on campus. “That’s a basic question for an interview. Many of the candidates we interviewed did not know the basics of the procedure interview the good one. Some of the campuses we visited had special lessons for industrial interviews. So all the tips and tricks interviews Of-share shared there. Of course, the interview is not about memorizing but showing what we can and are good at. That’s what we’re looking for,” he explained.
According to him, making oneself ready to enter the world of work must start from the lecture process. Students must come to campus to find out the material, and to learn what must be mastered in accordance with the chosen course. “You have to know what knowledge he learned so that they can deliver this knowledge during interviews,” he said.
Besides that, you also have to have additional expertise, for example, customer service, and communication skills. This can be learned from others by joining associations or groups in which there are practitioners.
Apart from giving public lectures, through this opportunity, Maya Resort Bali also collaborated with Undiksha. In the future, synergy will be built not only for the implementation of the apprentice program but also in the teaching practitioner program. “In the future, we hope to be able to provide material updates on the latest in the industry,” he concluded.
