Singaraja- The election for the Rector of Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) for the 2023-2027 period continues. On Friday, 18 November 2022, through a meeting, the Undiksha Senate finally determined four rector candidates who would progress to the next step.
The meeting in the Rectorate’s Ganesha III Room was headed directly by the Senate head, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Sudiana. In front of the members, he conveyed that based on the report received from the rector Selection Committee, during the extension of registration for the Rector candidates, which took place from 3 to 9 November 2022, there was one applicant, namely Prof. Dr. I Nengah Suparta. Based on the results of administrative verification, the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) Undiksha was declared eligible. He followed the three previous applicants, namely Prof. Dr. I Wayan Lasmawan, Dr. I Ketut Sudiana, and Dr. I Wayan Artanayasa. The four names were decided and determined as candidates for Undiksha chancellor for the 2023-2027 period by the Undiksha Senate. “It has met the minimum requirements of four balloons in the context of selecting the Rector of Undiksha,” said Sudiana.
In the next step, the Rector candidates will convey the vision and mission scheduled for 15 December 2022 in front of the Undiksha Senate, representatives from the academic community, and the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology or their representatives. This step is part of the screening and determines the names of the three rector candidates who will then participate in the elections scheduled for January 2023. The elections will be carried out by the senate and the Minister of Education and Culture. (hms)
