Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) is committed to producing competitive graduates. Supporting this, various strategies have been prepared. Not only does it improve the quality of learning. Most recently, a certified internship program for State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) and tracer study have also been prepared. Through the Student Career Development and Entrepreneurship Technical Implementation Unit (UPT PKKM), this has been socialized to study programs, on Monday (29/4/2019).
Head of UPT PKKM Undiksha, Dr. I Gusti Lanang Agung Parwata, S.Pd., M.Kes., said that the internship would provide greater opportunities to accelerate the absorption of graduates in the world of work, in addition to additional competencies related to their field of knowledge. “So this internship is promoted by BUMN which is coordinated by the Indonesian Human Capital Forum. “If we don’t join as members of this forum, we won’t be involved in the internship program,” he explained.
He admitted that this was the first time Undiksha had implemented this program because UPT PKKM was formed at the end of 2016. “After it was formed, we tried to look for information at other universities about PKKM management. So you can get information about this internship program. To begin with, we have not yet targeted how many participants will take part in the internship. The important thing is there first. “This is what we hope the study program can convey to students,” he said.
It was further stated that in order to accelerate absorption in the world of work, a job fair had previously been held in collaboration with a number of companies in Buleleng and Denpasar Regencies. “In the future, we will develop the implementation of online job fairs. What needs to be prepared is human resources who really understand IT. “Without the support of such human resources, we will be overwhelmed,” explained the academic who teaches at the Faculty of Sports and Health (FOK). Meanwhile, for tracer studies, the waiting period for alumni to work is expected to be zero months. Maybe even before graduating. “This is what we want. “Graduates don’t have to wait long to be able to work,” he added.
Deputy Chancellor I Undiksha, Prof. Dr. Ida Bagus Putu Arnyana, M.Sc., said that efforts were continuing to accelerate the absorption of graduates into the world of work. Apart from improving the quality of learning, a relevant curriculum is also prepared. “We are preparing a curriculum, so that graduates can be competitive and quickly be absorbed into the world of work. Can also work decently. Not just working,” he stressed. (hms)
