As a decree from the Director General of Higher Education Number: 271/O/T/2004, the Department of Sports Science (JIK) was approved becoming the Faculty of Sports Science Education (FPIK). Furthermore, the Rector of State IKIP Singaraja issued a letter with Number 397/K16/PP/2004, dated July 7, 2004 which decided to change the status of Sports Science Department (JIK) to be the Faculty of Sports Science Education (FPIK) consisted of:

1. Department of Physical Education, Health and Recreation (S1),
2. Department of Sports Science (S1), and
3. Department of Tourism Sports Training (D-III).

From 2005 to 2006 there were several developments found by State IKIP Singaraja. First, based on the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education No. 2962/D/T/2005 dated August 29, 2005, Diploma-II Program for Primary School Teacher Education was established under the Faculty of Educational Science. Second, based on the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education of the Ministry of National Education Number 12/D/T/2006, the Department of Balinese Language Education (D-IIl) and the Department of Japanese Language Education (D-III) were officially established under the Faculty of Language and Arts Education. Third, based on the Decree of the Director General  of Higher Education No. 3331/D/T/2006 Study Program of Elementary School Teacher Education (Bachelor degree) was established under the Faculty of Educational Science.

Major developments in this institution occurred after the issuance of Presidential Decree No. 11/2006 dated May 11, 2006 regarding the change in the status of State IKIP Singaraja to Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha). Thus the Academic Year of 2006/2007, Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha managed six Faculties, one Postgraduate Program with the following details.

1. Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Education (FPMIPA) which oversees:
   1. Department of Mathematics Education (S1)
   2. Department of Physics Education (S1)
   3. Department of Chemistry Education (S1)
   4. Department of Biology Education (S1)
   5. Department of Chemical Analyst (D-IIl)
2. Faculty of Social Studies Education (FPIPS) was in charge of:
   1. Department of Economics Education (S1)
   2. Department of History Education (S1)
   3. Department of Geography Education (S1)
   4. Department of Pancasila and Civic Education (S1)
   5. Department of Accounting (D-III)
   6. Department of Hospitality Management (D-III)
3. Faculty of Language and Arts Education (FPBS) was in charge of:
   1. Department of Indonesian and Regional Language and Literature Education (S1)
   2. Department of English Education Department (S1)
   3. Department of Fine Arts Education (S1)
   4. Department of English (D-III)
   5. Department of Balinese Language Education (D-III)
   6. Department of Japanese Language (D-III)
4. Faculty of Education (FIP) was in charge of:
   1. Department of Guidance and Counseling (S1)
   2. Department of Educational Technology (S1)
   3. Department of Elementary Education
      1. D-II Study Program of Elementary School Teacher
      2. D-II Study Program of Primary School Teacher
      3. Study Program of Elementary School Teacher Education (S1)

5. Faculty of Technology and Vocational Education (FPTK) was in charge of:
   1. Department of Home Industry Education (S1)
   2. Department of Informatics Management (D-III)
   3. Department of Electrical Engineering (D-III)
   4. Department of Hospitality Cuisine (D-III)
6. Faculty of Sport Science Education (FPIK) was in charge of:
   1. Department of Physical Education, Health and Recreation (S1)
   2. Department of Sports Science (S1)
   3. Department of Tourism Sports Training (D-III)
7. Postgraduate Program in charge of:
   1. Master Program of Language Education
   2. Master Program of Educational Research and Evaluation Method
   3. Master Program of Education Management

Regulation Number 29 of 2007 by Minister of National Education Regulation which was concerning on Undiksha’s Organization and Work Procedure caused a change in the faculty structure. In addition, several decrees that stipulated several departments establishment also resulted structural changes in several faculties. Decree of the Director General  of Higher Education No. 2090/D/T/2007, dated August 2, 2007 stipulated the Department of Informatics and Computer Engineering Education (PTIK) establishment, Decree of the Director General  of Higher Education No. 2456/D/T/2007 dated August 22, 2007 stipulated establishment of Master Program of Primary Education, as well as the Decree of the Director General  of Higher Education No. 972/D/T/2008 dated April 8, 2008 stipulated the establishment of the Department of Marine Cultivation (D-III).

On November 29, 2007, the Decree of the Director General  of Higher Education of the Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Indonesia Number: 631/Dikti/Kep/2007 concerning on the Arrangement and Codification of Study Programs in Higher Education was issued. As a result, several majors, study programs had changed names. The Department of Hospitality Management changed its name to the Department of Hospitality, the Department of Hospitality Cuisine changed its name to the Department of Cuisine, the Department of Indonesian and Regional Language and Literature Education changed to the Department of Indonesian Language Education, the Department of Electrical Engineering changed to the Department of Electronic Engineering, and the Study Program of Education Management changed to Study Program of Educational Administration Studies.

In the span of 2009, Undiksha obtained the authority to manage several new majors/study programs. First, the Master Program of Science Education and the Master Program of Mathematics Education through the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education Number 890/D/T/2009 dated 11 June 2009. Second, through the Decree of the Director General  of Higher Education Number 1036/DIT /2009 dated June 25, 2009 Undiksha was given the authority to organize Department of Management at the undergraduate level. Third, through the Decree of the Director General  of Higher Education No. 1347 dated August 10, 2009, Undiksha was also given authority to organize the Department of Accounting at the Undergraduate Program (S1) and the Master Program of Education Technology at the Postgraduate Program (S2). Fourth, the Department if Sports Coaching Education at the Undergraduate Program (S1) level, was set to be held at Undiksha based on the Decree of the Director General  of Higher Education Number 1858/D/T/2009 dated October 15, 2009. Fifth, through the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education Number 1937 dated October 30, 2009, Undiksha also given authority to organize the Department of Early Childhood Education Teacher Education (PG PAUD) at the undergraduate level (S1).

In 2010, Undiksha obtained the authority to manage a new department, namely the Department of Electrical Engineering Education at the undergraduate level within the Faculty of Engineering and Vocational Studies. The establishment of the Department of Electrical Engineering Education was determined based on the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education Number 1858/D/T/2009 dated October 15, 2010.

Furthermore, in 2011, Undiksha obtained the authority to manage two new departments, such as the Department of Balinese Language Education at Sundergraduate level and the Department of Japanese Language Education at the undergraduate level. In line with the central government’s policy on teacher candidate qualifications, starting in the academic year of 2011/2012, Diploma III Program of Department of Balinese Language Education and Department of Japanese Language Education no longer recruited new students. In 2012, Undiksha also obtained the authority to manage the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the undergraduate level and through the Rector’s Decree No. 650/UN48/HK/2012 dated August 1, 2012, the Faculty of Economics and Business was established.
