The Biome Department Student Association (HMJ), Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Ganesha Education University (Undiksha) held the 18th Biology Week Together on the local campus grounds. The opening was by Vice Chancellor I Undiksha, Prof. Dr. Ida Bagus Putu Arnyana, M.Si., Monday (12/11/2018). This event is a way to increase public awareness of protecting the environment.
Chairman of the Committee, I Gede Andy Wira Sanjaya, delivered the event which also commemorated the 39th anniversary of HMJ Bioma and also included junior and senior high school level olympiads. On the peak day, it is sweetened with an arts degree evening. “This is also to increase togetherness in the Biology Department, increasing students’ interest in studying biology. “It is also important to increase public awareness to protect the environment,” he said.
At this event, there were also exhibitions of a number of plants, including other things related to biology. Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Arnyana encourages students to continue to improve their quality, both in academic and non-academic fields. It is no less important to hone soft skills, besides hard skills. “After graduating, you must become a strong alumni. “We must be able to compete and adapt to the environment,” he stressed. (hms)
