Singaraja- The contestation of the election of candidates for members of the Student Republic Consultative Assembly (MPM-REMA) and Candidates for President and Vice President of the Student Republic of Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) in 2025. One of them is filled with public tests, Friday (3/14/2025).
The election of MPM-REMA members was attended by 13 candidates. While the President and Vice President of the Student Republic of Students were followed by two pairs of candidates who in their vision and mission presentation emphasized their commitment to bring the student organization to be better with the theme “Collaboration and Harmony”. The superior programs designed are also in line with university programs, one of which is community service which is a priority in campus development and the surrounding environment.
This public test is not only a place to convey the vision and mission, but also to explore and strengthen the programs that will be run through several questions asked by the panellists. The candidates showed seriousness in designing programs that would bring positive changes to the Undiksha academic community.
The Head of Undiksha’s Academic and Student Affairs Bureau, Drs. I Made Yasa, M.Pd, who was present representing the Undiksha’s Rector, welcomed the implementation of this public test. He hopes that the General Election (Pemira) this time can run peacefully, smoothly, and without obstacles. He also reminded that in every election process, differences of opinion are natural, but must still be overcome together.
Furthermore, he emphasized three important things in choosing prospective student leaders. First, competence and morality are absolute requirements that must be possessed by a prospective leader. Morality and morals must always be maintained in every interaction. Second, intellect is essential, with the ability to think ahead and adapt to changing situations. Third, increased humanity, which requires a leader to provide benefits and goodness for all those around him.
The Chairperson of REMA Undiksha Student Election Commission (KPM), Putu Ayu Budiasih said that the candidates will also take part in an open debate on March 25, 2025. Voting and vote counting will be held on April 8-10, 2025. She hopes that all Undiksha students can participate in the success of this Pemira by channeling their voting rights. (hms)
