Singaraja- Baleganjur ngarap art performance took place at the Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha), Saturday (1/3/2025). This event is a series of the 10th Ganesha Art Festival organized by the Undiksha Regional Arts Student Activity Unit (UKM). This event is not only to preserve Balinese culture, but also to provide a competitive platform for various art groups in Bali as well as an effort to introduce the values of life contained in traditional Balinese music to the wider community.
This performance involved 15 art groups from various regions in Bali. Each art group showed fantastic performance with amazing and harmonize through the authentic Balinese baleganjur instruments. Every beat of the instruments, from the gong, kendang, to ceng-ceng, fills the air with full of energy and captivating rhythm, and influence euphoria of the audience. The Baleganjur performed by the participants was full of meaning, reflecting the depth of Balinese culture that is rich in the values of Balinese life, traditions and religious ceremonies.
Interestingly, even though it was raining, there was still a sense of excitement and joy. The audience remained enthusiastic. They continued to encourage and support each group that performed.
Besides being an art exhibition, this event is also a space to strengthen relationships between young artists, create intercultural dialogue, and introduce more Balinese art to the public, especially Undiksha students and Singaraja citizens.
This baleganjur performance has shown that Balinese culture can still develop with the times and can provide inspiration for young Balinese artists to continue working and preserving traditional Balinese art amidst the challenges of globalization era. (hms)
