Singaraja- Panji Anom Village, located in the Sukasada District of Buleleng, boasts extraordinary natural potential, especially in the Puncak Landep area. Situated at an elevation of 320 meters above sea level, the village enjoys cool air and a lush, green landscape, making it an ideal location fot eco-tourism or “Green Tourism.”
Recognizing the need to fully develop this potential, the Student Executive Board Student Republic (BEM-REMA) of Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) is actively contributing to the effort to enhance nature attraction. They are integrating technology to promote sustainable tourism, a project initiated through the 2024 Student Organization Capacity Strengthening Program (PPK Ormawa).
Led by I Wayan Reka Ningcaya Bawa and accompanied by supervising lecturer Putu Widiarini, M.Pd., M.Sc, this initiative began with a visit to the village on May 29, 2024. During the visit, the Head of Panji Anom Village, I Nyoman Mustanda expressed his appreciation for the PPK Ormawa program, emphasizing its value in promoting the natural beauty of Puncak Landep and engaging the local community in tourism management.
However, several challenges have been identified in developing tourism in Panji Anom Village, such as weak management and tourism services, especially in areas like camping, trekking, yoga, fruit picking, and cultural tourism. Furthermore, the lack of effective tourism promotion has resulted in minimal increases in tourist visits. To address these issues, the BEM REMA team proposed several solutions, including raising awareness of the village’s natural and human resources, developing tourism packages, offering training in tourism management and services, and procuring equipment for camping, trekking and yoga activities. In addition, they worked on organizing tourism areas for camping and fruit picking, conducting training for packaging processed products like crackers and tandusan oil, and enhancing tourism promotion through brochures and social media accounts.
The promotion of nature-based tourism activities such as camping, trekking, yoga and fruit picking was further supported by a tourism promotion video created by the BEM REMA Undiksha Team. The distribution of tourism package brochures is also expected to attract more visitors, thereby stimulating tourism activity and boosting the local economy of Panji Anom.
The packaging training for crackers and tandusan oil was provided to members of the PKK group, specifically the Sari Rasa Women Farmers Group. This training aimed to equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to improve the packaging of their products.
The official launch of the tourism Village was held on Tuesday, September 3, 2024. This event is expected to inspire further development of the village as a sustainable green tourism destination, especially in the Puncak Landep Area. The result of this activity has already increased the enthusiasm of the local community, especially Pokdarwis, to manage the area’s natural tourism more effectively. The funding of this program was provided by Ditjen Belmawa and Ganesha University of Education in collaboration with Panji Anom Village. Cooperation was also established with the Buleleng Tourism Office to support the sustainable development of the tourism village.
