Singaraja- The Chess Student Activity Unit (UKM) of Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) is preparing to hold the 8th Ganesha Grand Chess Tournament in 2025. This was conveyed during an audience with the Vice Rector of Undiksha for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Public Relation, Prof. Dr. I Ketut Sudiana, M.Kes., on Monday, September 9, 2024.
The tournament is scheduled to take place in February or March in 2025 with categories for participants from Elementary Schools, Junior High Schools, Senior High Schools, University Students or the General Public. The Vice Rector, Prof Sudiana expressed his appreciation for the enthusiasm of the Chess UKM in organizing a national-level tournament, which provides a platform for players to hone their chess skills while also promoting Undiksha to the broader audience. He also fully supports the idea of expanding the tournament to an international level. This tournament is expected to collaborate with Percasi Buleleng, Percasi Bali, and Percasi Indonesia. The possibility of holding an international-level tournament wi;; be further explored by the Undiksha Chess UKM.
In addition to discussing the tournament plan, this meeting also served to introduce the new members of the Undiksha Chess UKM for the 2024/2025 period.
