Commemorating the 7th Anniversary, the Student Activity Unit (UKM) of the Information and Counseling Center for Students Concerned with AIDS and Drugs (PIK-M Pelana) of the Ganesha Education University (Undiksha) held a number of competitions and an Art Night (MGS) as a means of raising funds which were channeled to social interests.
Head of UKM, Kadek Martini, explained that the competition was held in the form of peer tutoring with participants from 47 SMA/SMK/MA students throughout Bali. The previous year, this competition only came from Buleleng Regency. “Now it’s expanded. “The number of participants has also increased,” she explained, Sunday (18/11/2018). Apart from that, there was also an article competition with the theme “The role of the younger generation in overcoming juvenile delinquency today”. The sub-themes are HIV AIDS, drugs, sexuality, healthy dating, early pregnancy, and sexually transmitted infections. Through this, it is hoped that public awareness of preventing juvenile delinquency will increase. “Previously this competition was at the provincial level. But now it’s national. There were 23 participants. “The article was sent in July,” she explained.
Meanwhile, MGS which took place on November 18 at the Undiksha LAB School, was filled with entertainment programs, one of which was music. Funds collected through ticket sales will be distributed to social institutions. “This is a form of social concern. “We also hope that through this activity, students and school children can become pioneers in anticipating social problems,” he concluded.
