Singaraja- Preparations for the election of the Student Consultative Council (MPM) and President of the Student Executive Board of the Student Republic (BEM-REMA) at Ganesha University of Education continue to be strengthened. Friday (18/1/2019), socialization of all stages was carried out by the management of the Student Election Commission (KPM) and the General Election Supervisory Committee (Panwasra) which had been previously formed.
Undiksha Deputy Chancellor III for Student and Alumni Affairs, Dr. I Gusti Ngurah Pujawan, M.Kes., said that the election process must be conducive. All students support each other and contribute to the success of the democratic party. According to him, this is important as preparation and educational media for other elections, such as the presidential one which took place in April 2019. “This election must be conducive. “The level of participation must also be greater than before,” he said.
Chair of the Undiksha MPM, Dziky Muhamad N., conveyed the socialization that took place at the Undiksha Seminar Building to provide a broader understanding regarding the stages and mechanisms of the election so that it could run smoothly. “We hope that this election can be better than the previous one,” he said.
This election is planned for March 2019. Before that, preparations are carried out such as collecting voter data and selecting prospective candidates. This celebration of democracy adopts a presidential system. Namely, candidates carry out campaigns, convincing voters to provide support. During elections, logistics are also used like elections. “This includes a calm period before the election. “This is like elections in Indonesia,” he said. (hms)
