University Ganesha Education (Undiksha) has one of the leading programs for developing student skills. The program is Overseas Field Work Practices (PKL). Since 2017, dozens of students have participated. Diah Wiradnyani, a student in the Bachelor of Accounting Study Program, at the Faculty of Economics, is one of them. This program was followed in 2020 while realizing his dream of being able to go abroad. Vietnam is the country that is the destination. Diah, her nickname, was assigned to be part of the Human Resources Department in a company real estate known as C.T. Group.
She is one of five students who set foot in the neighboring country. He can also experience internships abroad with systems, environments, and relations from various cultural backgrounds. How could it not be, according to his story, he lived in a hostel not only with students from Vietnam but also with several students from the Philippines and South Korea.
Seeking knowledge all the way to China is a phrase many people see as describing the unrelenting spirit of education. This expression is also commonly used to deepen understanding and seek experience on a global scale. This expression really applies to a student who won third place in the 2018 National Student Art Week. She was always eager to gain experience while still young.
Starting from his desire to be able to live and live in another country for a long time, motivated her to take part in this Undiksha annual program. Only having the ability to speak English is sufficient, does not reduce the feeling of enthusiasm and optimism to make all of that happen. Apart from his dream of being able to go to another country, she joined this program to add insight that will support him when he enters the world of work.
The hard work of this student from Bangli Regency for the program began with routinely accessing information about the opening of registration. In between that, he also prepared to face a series of stages, one of which was an interview. Preparation is done by accessing information via Youtube. As an effort to add insight, he did not hesitate to ask some of her campus friends who had participated in this program before. And what is not less important, a few months before his departure, he was more diligent in setting aside and saving pocket money for additional pocket money while abroad.
A feeling of joy wrapped in gratitude radiated from her face, after knowing she had passed the selection and was accepted to gain experience in a big company. This is in response to her hard work. Ho Chi Minh City is the place to enjoy a new life. Here, it is felt that life is very attached to the metropolis. The atmosphere is very different from life in Bali with so many beaches and mountains. Meanwhile, in her place as a street vendor, she learned various things, such as the stages of recruiting new employees through the social media LinkedIn. She also had the opportunity to discuss with people from the LinkedIn company in America during the media video call. Also, learn about Employee and Employer Branding.
One of the positive things that can be obtained from this program is mental training and independence. She felt much more independent after his return to Indonesia. She feels very proud because as a girl at the age of 20, she can depart with confidence, manage time and finances, and do other things without assistance from her parents. Apart from that, I am very happy because the range of relations is getting wider.
However, the thing that is really meaningful to her is the work experience she gets, especially how to train himself to be more disciplined in attitude and time discipline at work, let alone carrying a heavy burden on her shoulders because she has to maintain the image of the university and the State of Indonesia. This student who has a hobby of singing highly recommends this program. She was quite satisfied with the experience he got that was within the cross-cultural scope. (hms)
