Singaraja- A student at the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha), Ni Kkomang Putri Ayuning Lestari, has successfully passed the Indonesian International Vocational Student Mobility Awards (IISVOMA) program. This program was launched by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology through the Academic Directorate of Indonesian Vocational Higher Education in order to provide opportunities for all vocational students at institutions and tertiary institutions in Indonesia to get exposure and experience studying abroad.
This Diploma English Study Program student will attend education for one semester at the University of Portsmouth, England. Ahead of his departure, he met with Undiksha’s Deputy Chancellor for Academic and Cooperation, Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.T.I, Tuesday (6/9/2022).
This student from Badung Regency admitted that he was interested in participating in this national flagship program for a number of reasons. First, want to introduce Undiksha to the international world. Second, want to gain experience and improve self-competence, especially in mastering English. “This is also important to support career paths later,” she said.
Passing the selection is not an easy matter. He has to go through a number of stages of selection and preparation, starting from the administrative stages, interviews, psychological tests, and English proficiency tests. Not only that, he has to compete with 3 thousands of students from various universities in Indonesia. “The program quota is only 400 people. The competition is tough,” she explained.
Apart from the university, her desire to join this program was also strongly supported by his parents. “I hope that in the future more and more Undiksha students will take part in programs like this,” he added. After this meeting, she immediately prepared to leave for England in the near future.
Meanwhile, Rasben Dantes congratulated the student who is familiarly called Ayuning. “We really appreciate your participation in this program. Hopefully, this will be able to introduce Undiksha abroad,” he hoped. On this occasion, he also advised Ayuning to continue to hone self-competence and later become a motivator for other students.
