Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) students again excelled at the national level. This time, it came from the selection of the Prince and Princess Indonesian Education event held by the Indonesian Achievement Youth Association. The event, which took place in Bandung, West Java, was attended by Gilang Aditya Oka Pratama from D4 English for Business and Professional Communication Study Program.
The stages of this event took place in August 2022 and the grand final was on September 10, 2022. Gilang, as he is affectionately known, managed to win 3 titles, including becoming Runner-Up II for Men of Indonesian Education 2022, Mister Education Indonesia 2022, and Ambassador of Indonesian Education. This student from Singaraja successfully competed with 76 participants from 34 provinces in Indonesia.
His participation in this event was because he was engaged in the scope of education. Through this, he wishes to be able to help underprivileged children achieve their dreams of continuing their education. “I am sure that by working together with all education activists in Indonesia through the Putera Daughter Education event and under the Indonesian Youth Achievement Association, together we can contribute to improving the quality of education in Indonesia,” he said, Wednesday (14/5/2022).
Even though he encountered various obstacles before participating in this event, even to the point where he wanted to give up and resign, his desire to be able to take part in this event was so great that he was able to overcome the various obstacles that existed. What’s more, this event is included as one of the best events in Indonesia that can help the younger generation.
The achievements achieved are certainly the fruit of his hard work. Admittedly, preparations were made 5 months after he took part in the Bali Men’s Education event. This success is also inseparable from the support of the Supervisor, Dr. Ni Kadek Wirahuni, S.Pd., M.Pd., and Ni Wayan Dewi Tarini, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kes.
Feelings of joy and pride for the achievements achieved are certainly unstoppable for him. He still didn’t expect to be one of the winners in this event, especially when he was one of the youngest contestants. “I feel grateful to be one of the best,” he explained.
Deputy Chancellor for Student Affairs, Public Relations, and Undiksha Alumni, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd., proudly welcomes this achievement. “This is extraordinary for us at the helm. Undiksha student achievement continues to grow,” he said. He invited other students to continue to develop their potential and participate in competitions. “We really support students to take part in competitions. This is important for the students themselves as well as for the university,” he concluded. (hms)
