Singaraja- The Student Activity Unit (UKM) Racana Jelantik-Jempiring Scout Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) managed to earn first place and second place in The 10th Indonesia Senior Rover Ranger Scout Competition 2022 held by Scout Student Activity Unit from Universitas Negeri Semarang from 1 May to 12 June 2022.
The national level event carries the theme of “Creative Scouts with Social and Cultural Spirit and is followed by Pandega College Scouts (University Students in Indonesia).” The first Undiksha Team consisted of Ni Komang Darmara Pradnya from the Vocational Culinary Arts Education Study Programme, Gusti Ayu Made Suciandini from the Diploma 3 (D3) Study Programme, Luh Putu Puji Astuti from the Accounting Study Programme, and Kadek Ariantini from the Mathematics Education Study Programme. This team presented video works of public service advertisements aimed at the community, especially teenagers, in order to reduce bad habits that have become entrenched, namely the habit of talking bad about other people. This work won first place.
Meanwhile, the second Undiksha team consisted of I Gusti Putu Agus Edy Eka Putra from the English Education Study Programme, I Ketut Sukrisnawan from the Elementary School Teacher Education Study Programme, Nugraha Hajaro from the History Education Study Programme, and Mub. Fitrah Aminullah from the Economics Education Study Programme. This team brought video works of public service advertisements aimed at the public, especially teenagers, so as not to forget our childhood friends who accompanied us during hardship because separated by time and place in adulthood. This work won second place.
Under the guidance of Dr. I Wayan Muliarta, S.Pd., M,Or., and Made Juliani, S.ST., S.Kep.Ns., M.Pd., the work was prepared for 5 days starting from scripting, making videos, editing, and preparation of registration administration files. One of the team members, Gusti Ayu Made Suciandini, admitted that she was happy and proud to be able to participate in the event. Besides being successful in making the university proud, she also feels more confident in taking part in future competitions. “Our preparation was quite short, I was not expecting to get the best results,” she explained.
Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Public Relations, and Undiksha Alumni, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M. Pd., expressed his appreciation for this achievement. “We from the headship thank and give appreciation to students and supervisors who are enthusiastic about competing and achieving awards,” he said. He hopes this achievement will motivate them to participate in other competitions. “We also invite other students to compete actively. This is not only a matter of achievement but can train soft skills,” he concluded. (lpsy)
