Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) has received accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT). However, development steps continue to be taken. One of them is increasing cooperation with universities abroad. This was conveyed by the Chancellor, Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd on the sidelines of a Thanksgiving event at the Ceremonial Field on the local campus, on Thursday (28/2/2019).
The Chancellor from South Kuta, Badung Regency said that currently Undiksha has collaborated in implementing PKL and PPL with a number of universities in the Philippines, Vietnam, and Thailand. Students who have taken part in this program since 2017 have tended to increase. The interesting thing comes not only from the English language education study program but also from others, such as Maritime Affairs Fisheries and Economics. “This is a way to broaden students’ knowledge so that after graduating they have more provisions,” he said.
It was further stated that the university, which already has a Faculty of Medicine, is also exploring collaboration with a number of universities in Malaysia, European countries, and the UK. It is believed that this can be realized thanks to the institution’s A accreditation. “With A or superior accreditation, it will make it easier to establish this collaboration,” he said.
This collaboration is designed not only to implement PKL and PPL. But also in the field of research and exchange of teaching staff. Apart from doing this, Undiksha also continues to strengthen institutional governance, including providing a curriculum that meets demands, one of which is facing the Industrial Revolution 4.0. “We want this accreditation to be supported by joint commitment. “Now it’s A, tomorrow it has to be A. In two days and so on it also has to be A,” stressed the former Deputy Chancellor II of Undiksha.
Accelerating the institution’s vision, namely to become a superior university based on the Tri Hita Karana philosophy in Asia by 2045, also continues to be a concern. It is hoped that this will receive support from the entire academic community. “We want this vision to be achieved before 2045,” he concluded. (hms)
