Singaraja– Welcoming the XVth Bali Provincial Sports Week (Porprov) event, the Ganesha Sports Center (GSC) of the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) is also involved in testing and measuring the physical condition of athletes. “For this activity, we have carried out with KONI in Badung Regency, Denpasar City, and Buleleng Regency,” explained the Head of Undiksha GSC, I Gede Suwiwa, S.Pd., M.Pd, Tuesday (26/7/2022).
The implementation of tests and measurements of the athlete’s physical condition, continued Suwiwa, has been supported by cooperation. He explained, GSC as the best center for training and measuring physical condition in the Province of Bali has the latest/modern sports science and technology-based test and measurement equipment. This facility is also supported by human resources with academic qualifications of professors, doctors, doctors, and masters of sports.
It was further said, the tests and measurements of physical condition are to determine the athlete’s physical capacity as well as evaluation material for athletes, coaches, and coaches in preparing a comprehensive training program ahead of a match. “There are two stages for the test. There are several aspects that go into the test. This adapts to the branch of sport,” he explained.
In addition to Porprov Bali, GSC Undiksha is also entrusted with conducting tests and physical measurements of athletes who will compete in other events. “We have done this test many times. We hope that GSC Undiksha can facilitate athlete tests in Eastern Indonesia. We from universities also want to contribute more to Indonesian sports,” concluded Suwiwa. (hms)
