Singaraja– Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) through the Technical Implementation Unit for Student Career Development and Entrepreneurship (UPT-PKKM) carried out socialization activities for the Internship and Certified Independent Study Program (MSIB) Kampus Merdeka Batch 2 on 28 and 29 December 2021.
This event was opened by the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Cooperation of Undiksha, Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.Ti. He said that since 2020 the Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology has launched the Merdeka Learn Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program which has really made quite substantive and fundamental changes in the implementation of higher education in all universities in Indonesia.
The Deputy Chancellor who once served as Deputy Dean I of the Faculty of Engineering and Vocational Studies (FTK) said that Undiksha University as an academic institution has carried out activities oriented towards independent campus learning by providing opportunities for Undiksha students to gain experience in the field such as for example internships in industry as well as teaching assistance. “Until now there have been 9 independent learning activities launched by the Ministry of Education and Culture Research and Higher Education Technology, be it student exchanges, teaching assistance, industrial internships, there are what we call research, independent study activities, humanitarian projects, building villages. or thematic KKN and state defense,” he said, accompanied by the Head of UPT PKKM Undiksha, Nyoman Karina Wedanthi, S.Pd., M.Pd.
He further explained that all of these activities were intended to provide greater opportunities for students to be better prepared to face various problems in the world of work after graduating from college. “In the future, we will never know what jobs are still available, what jobs are missing,” he added. Therefore, universities have an obligation to be able to provide skills to students to be used in the world of work. “On this occasion, I hope that our children will be more involved in and take part in the selection of internship programs and certified independent studies because this is a very good opportunity for them to experience, know the problems that exist in the field, both in industry and the business world. and the world of work,” he said.
Delivered further, since the MBKM program was launched, Undiksha has made improvements to learning tools, especially those related to the curriculum. So that in 2020 Undiksha has an independent campus learning curriculum that is maintained. “So we really want to protect our children from carrying out independent learning activities on an independent campus so that we carry out various mechanisms, starting from the selection process, the guidance process between students and their academic supervisors, the coordination process between university leaders and deans, heads of departments and program coordinators. study, for us to be able to equalize our children’s activities at MBKM,” he explained.
