Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) has collaborated with a number of universities abroad in the implementation of education and teaching. In line with this, in the 2022/2023 academic year, this tertiary institution which has eight faculties and one undergraduate program is preparing students to take part in the programs designed, namely double degree and fast-track program. This was conveyed by the Deputy Chancellor for Academic and Cooperation of Undiksha, Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.T.I., after a coordination meeting discussing opportunities for foreign cooperation, Wednesday (20/7/2022).
Rasben Dantes explained that the preparation began with the recruitment of students to join the International Class Initiation (IKI) class. Recruitment opens after re-registration for independent pathways. “So that the number of students at Ganesha University of Education is complete. Then we will open it openly for children who want to enter the international initiation class,” he explained.
He further conveyed that student recruitment for IKI is related to a partnership program with several foreign universities, one of which is in France. Undiksha had an idea double degree, a fast-track program, as well as other programs in the fields of hospitality, English education, computer science, and so on with La-Rochelle University and the University of Angers. Fast-track programs are students studying for three years at Undiksha and two years at partner universities. Through this program, students get bachelor’s and master’s degrees. This program has been implemented by Undiksha together with Ming Chi University of Technology, Taiwan. Meanwhile, through the double degree program, it is hoped that Undiksha and partner universities can award two degrees together. “Students from related study programs will be selected again. Ten people per study program take French courses for 3 years and the class is really subsidized by the University and the hope is that within 3 years they can master it (French, red),” he explained.
IKI has been formed by Undiksha in 2021. Among them are Computer Science Study Program, Mathematics Study Program, Management Study Program, Law Study Program, Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program, English Language Education Study Program, Physical Education Study Program, Health and Recreation, and Medicine Study Program.
The formation of this class is not only to prepare students to take part in overseas programs but also to support the internationalization at home program launched by Undiksha in 2019. Undiksha wants to become a place for learning for the international community. (hms)
