Malaysia– The Masters and Doctoral Study Programs in Language Education at the University of Education of Ganesha (Undiksha) visited the Faculty of Education, Universitas Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Monday (20/1/2019). The visit, which was attended by dozens of students, was also filled with discussions on cooperation in the field of educational development.
Head of Undiksha Postgraduate Language Education Study Program, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Rasna, M.Pd said that efforts to develop education continue to be carried out in study programs and universities, including in the fields of research and community service. “My hope is that cooperation in this field can be carried out with the National University of Malaysia,” he explained.
Student exchange, according to him, is also relevant to cooperation. This is an effort to increase student knowledge and provide new experiences. “My hope, especially the field of research can run, one of which is the field of anthropological linguistics,” he explained.
Head of Undergraduate Program (TESL) UKM, Harwati Hashim, Ph.D., who received the delegation, said that currently, her party has collaborated with many universities outside Malaysia. The offer from Undiksha received a very positive response. “We are happy to cooperate. Especially student exchanges,” she said. SMEs are also interested in community service programs, which are considered to be very much carried out by universities in Indonesia.
At the meeting which was also attended by a senior lecturer at the UKM Education Faculty, Dr. Maslawati Mohamad, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. This Hamidah was also filled with seminars on language learning in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0. In this case, it is deemed necessary to develop technology-based innovations. “Innovation in terms of output and teaching, which focuses on pedagogy. That is combined with technology, such as the Ipad,” she concluded.
Apart from visiting the university, on January 18 the Undiksha group also took part in an international conference. Students also presented articles on various topics, ranging from literature to education, and language. (hms)
