Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education has established cooperation with Iwate University, Japan in the field of educational development. This was followed up through a meeting on Tuesday (19/11/2019). The meeting was carried out directly by the Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd at Iwate University. The Chancellor from Nusa Dua, Badung Regency was accompanied by Deputy Chancellor I Undiksha, Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.T., and PIC of Undiksha Collaboration. The visit was received by the President of Iwate University, Akira Iwabuchi, and the Vice President of International Liaison, Toshiro Yabu.
The Chancellor of Jampel said that this meeting was a follow-up to the previous meeting which took place at Undiksha. This collaboration is because it is able to support the internationalization program at home which has been launched by Undiksha in 2019. Therefore, further discussions are carried out. “This is following up on the previous meeting regarding cooperation in educational development,” he explained.
Collaborations that have the opportunity to be pioneered include Japanese language courses, teaching practices, internship programs, joint research, and so on. “This is what Undiksha has the opportunity to do, moreover it also has a Japanese Language Education Study Program,” he said. In addition to discussing the academic field, Undiksha also had the opportunity to gather information about university governance, including observing Japanese language learning classes. There are various things that are considered to be adopted to be implemented at Undiksha.
The collaboration between the University of Iwate and the Undiksha Japanese Language Education Study Program has actually been going on for five years. But the program is more on social activities and saving the environment. In the future, it is hoped that there will be more collaborations in order to improve the quality of students and higher education institutions. (hms)
