Singaraja- The Faculty of Medicine, Ganesha Education University (Undiksha) has attracted the attention of a number of universities in Indonesia. One of them is from Semarang State University. The university staff with the status of an Educational Personnel Educational Institution (LPTK) also carried out a working visit and gathered information regarding the founding process, on Thursday (13/6/2019).
The visit was led by the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Zaenuri, S.E., M.Si, Akt. He, who was accompanied by a number of officials, admitted that he had plans to establish a Medical Faculty. This is a form of support for the health sector. It is hoped that this visit to Undiksha will be able to provide an overview of the things that must be prepared and other things to make this dream come true. “Undiksha already had a Faculty of Medicine. We want to know the founding process. “What things must be prepared,” he said.
A positive response was also given to FK Undiksha because it was able to stand at a tertiary institution that was included as an LPTK. “Beyond this visit, we hope there will continue to be cooperation in terms of sharing information,” he explained. Apart from making this visit to realize the plan, his party also made other efforts, one of which was asking for support from related stakeholders, such as educational hospitals. “We want the proposal to be completed as soon as possible. “We hope that the collaboration with Undiksha will continue,” he added.
Undiksha Chancellor, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd said that the establishment of the faculty, whose decision letter came down from the center on August 8, 2018, required quite a long process, especially in preparing proposals. “We had to conduct FGDs several times. Correct all deficiencies,” he emphasized, accompanied by a number of staff.
Support from various parties, he said, was very necessary. Like local governments, the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) and others. Apart from that, the curriculum and human resources must be truly strengthened. “There are many things that need to be prepared. Semarang State University already has a number of study programs that have become the embryo of the Faculty of Medicine. We think we can definitely make that plan a reality. “We are ready to collaborate in sharing information,” he stressed.
On this occasion, the advantages of FK Undiksha were also explained. Core competencies, according to the 2012 Indonesian doctor competency standards. Meanwhile, supporting competencies are doctors with insight into tourism medicine with the concept of creating health and wellness tourism.
