Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) is one of the centers for implementing the National Selection Based on Test Computer-Based Writing Examination (UTBK-SNBT) for new student admissions for the 2023/2024 academic year. This exam took place from 8 to 13 May 2023 with a total of 1,892 participants.
The participants consisted of science, social, and mixed sciences. For this exam, Undiksha prepared eight laboratories spread across the Faculty of Languages and Arts, Faculty of Engineering and Vocational Studies, Faculty of Economics, and the Information and Communication Technology Academic Support Unit (UPA-TIK). Examinations consisting of two sessions per day were carried out strictly. Before entering the room, all participants must undergo an inspection by the supervisors. Apart from that, they are still implementing health protocols.
The implementation of this exam was monitored by the Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Lasmawan, M.Pd. Through CCTV monitoring at the committee secretariat, he assessed that the implementation of the exam on the first day ran in an orderly and smooth manner. This is expected to continue until the last day. On this occasion also, Prof. Lasmawan said that in the 2023/2024 academic year, Undiksha provided 5,100 seats for new students from DIII to S3 levels. Specifically for D3, D4, and S1 program selection, it is carried out through three channels, namely National Selection Based on Achievement (SNBP) with a capacity of 20 percent, National Selection Based on Tests (SNBT) with a capacity of 50 percent, and independent selection with the capacity of 30 percent.
Specifically related to the independent pathway, the selection pattern in 2023 uses the UTBK-SNBT values. However, Prof. Lasmawan said that he did not rule out the possibility of several study programs if their capacity had not been met, an independent route would be opened with a special test. “Only for study programs that have sufficient capacity. If it is fulfilled then there will be no more tests,” he explained.
SMA/SMK/equivalent graduates are expected to take advantage of the existing selection pathways. Apart from that, it can make Undiksha the campus of choice for continuing higher education. Undiksha is committed to implementing quality education in order to produce superior and competitive human resources. (hms)
