Singaraja – Phase 1 of the 2020 Computer-Based Writing Examination-Joint Selection for State University Entrance (UTBK-SBMPTN) is officially rolling. Ganesha University of Education as one of the executors. The first phase takes place from Sunday (5/7/2020) to Thursday (9/7/2020). During this exam, health protocols related to preventing the spread of Covid-19 are a top priority.
UTBK participants are required to follow the protocol in the form of maintaining distance when entering the room or when taking the test, washing hands in the space provided, using hand sanitizers, masks, and hand sleeves, and also showing a health certificate. Strict rules are also applied to accompanying families, namely not being allowed to be in the campus area while the exam is in progress.
Vice Chancellor I Undiksha, Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.TI. stated that Undiksha facilitated the exams for 1,527 participants. As many as 47 of them came from outside Bali. Of these, 25 people have relocated to other tertiary institutions closest to their area of origin.
The implementation of the first day of UTBK has gone well while still implementing the protocol to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Even supervisors who interact with participants specifically use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). “Everything is going well, and the health protocol has been properly implemented,” he explained.
Implementation of UTBK session 1 starts at 9.00 – 11.15 WITA and session 2 starts at 14.00 – 16.15 WITA. Meanwhile, a time lag of 2 hours and 45 minutes will be used to sterilize the room.
Rasben Dantes revealed that the main priority in implementing the UTBK 2020 was the health and safety of the participants and also the organizing committee. “The UTBK implementation is divided into 10 sessions, where every day there will be 2 sessions with 4 different locations, namely the Language and Arts Faculty, the Engineering and Vocational Faculty, the Economics Faculty, and UPT ICT with 10 computer lab rooms in use. Here, our priority is prospective participants, supervisors, and the UTBK SBMPTN committee so that all are in good condition and protected,” he concluded.
Undiksha is trying its best in implementing UTBK, including also issuing an appeal from the Chancellor of Undiksha regarding Undiksha employees who are not involved in the committee to Work from Home (BDR) during the implementation of UTBK. It is hoped that efforts to prevent the spread of Covid-19 will also receive support from UTBK participants in the next session. “Today there will be 2 exam sessions, and there will be mobility of around 320 participants. Meanwhile, employees will work from home during this UTBK to suppress and control the number of people at the university,” he concluded. (hms)
