Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) has welcomed 15 foreign students, further solidifying its reputation as an internationally recognized university.
The students were officially accepted by the Rector of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Lasmawan, M.Pd., in Ganesha III Room at the Rectorate, on Thursday, September 5, 2024. He was accompanied by the Head of the Foreign Students Management Center, Prof. Putu Indah Rahmawati, Ph.D.
The students hail from Uzbekistan, German, and Timor Leste, and they enrolled in programs such as Management, Vocational Culinary Education, Law, and English Language Education. Additionally, three students from China are participating in an internship program at the Balingkang Confucius Institute.
Rector of Undiksha, Prof. Lasmawan expressed his appreciation to the students for choosing Undiksha as place of study. He emphasized that the presence of these foreign students is a testament to Undiksha’s successful efforts in spreading the wings in the International arena, which inline with the Undiksha vision and mission. The foreign students expected can promote Undiksha excellence in providing education, services, and more, thereby increasing the undiksha’s recognition both nationally or Internationally.
This opportunity is also urged the Deans and Program Coordinators to provide the best services to the foreign students to actively involve them in various activities, academic or non academic.
Currently, Undiksha ranks 5th among Indonesia universities with the highest number of foreign students. However, further optimization efforts are needed at both the faculty and unit levels. This is important to support the Undiksha’s “Internationalization at Home” initiative and to achieve the Rector’s vision 2023-2027 period,which is to establish Undiksha as a university with an international reputation in education and leadership.
