Singaraja- Towards the end of 2021, Ganesha University of Education was visited by Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University (Untirta), Monday (18/10/2021). The presence of a university with the status of a Public Service Agency (BLU) also intends to share university management which concerns strategies for achieving Main Performance Indicators (IKU) of Higher Education, management of remuneration, and management of the Faculty of Medicine.
The Untirta delegation was led by Deputy Chancellor II, H. Kurnia Nugraha, S.T., M.T. His presence was received by Vice Chancellor II Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Lasmawan, M.Pd., accompanied by the Head of the Bureau, Chair and Secretary of the Remuneration Team, and Functional Associate Expert in Planning. On this occasion, Kurnia Nugraha expressed his desire to share with Undiksha based on several reasons. Namely, the achievement of Undiksha’s IKU in 2020/2021 is considered very extraordinary, namely ranking 7th out of 33 State Universities Public Service Agency (PTN-BLU). In addition, financial management, one of which is the pattern of implementing remuneration which is considered good. “That’s why we learned well from that experience. Third, for medicine. This is one age, so we want to learn from the experience of managing medicine at Undiksha at this time. We want good experiences to be adaptable,” he said.
Meanwhile, Vice Chancellor II Undiksha, Prof. Lasmawan admitted that he was very happy to receive this visit. He, who represented the chancellor, shared about Undiksha’s efforts to increase the IKU ranking. What is being done is not only strengthening various programs based on indicators. More than that is to strengthen the togetherness and harmony of the academic community. This is always held by the Chancellor in his leadership.
Regarding remuneration, he was accompanied by the Head of the Remuneration Team, Dr. I Gede Adi Yuniarta, S.E., Ak., M.Sc., explained Undiksha’s remuneration is the most sloping, that is, the distance between class one and those below it is not too sharp. He said it was a form of modeling for the Chancellor to be able to walk together in happiness. “Of course, this is not easy for a leader. But that was done by the Chancellor. And our remuneration has been referred to by several PTNs who proposed the BLU,” he explained.
On the other hand, with regard to the management of the Faculty of Medicine, Undiksha is still trying to improve quality. This is because the youngest faculty is only three years old. In order to improve educational services, the construction of facilities is also being carried out and what is currently underway is an integrated health laboratory with funds sourced from State Sharia Securities (SBSN).
Lasmawan added that Undiksha, as a relatively young university, also wants to learn from Untirta’s experience. Through this meeting, Undiksha and Untirta also hoped that in the future they would be able to collaborate, both in terms of human resource development, and institutional governance, as well as in the field of research or community service.
