Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) received a visit from Makassar State University (UNM), Tuesday (25/1/2022). This visit was in the context of a comparative study on the proposal for the Medical Education Study Program.
The presence of UNM was directly led by the Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Husain Syam, accompanied by the Vice Chancellors and other ranks. He was received by the Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, accompanied by Deputy Chancellors, Heads of Institutions, Heads of Bureaus, a number of Faculty of Medicine officials, and the Medical Education Study Program Development Team.
At the meeting, the Chancellor of Undiksha, I Nyoman Jampel, revealed that UNM’s visit was actually an honor for Undiksha because, in terms of reputation and position, UNM had a national and international scale. He further said that this visit showed that Undiksha was seen as having advantages in establishing medical education study programs. “But Undiksha was considered to have advantages so it was visited by UNM, because we, as a tertiary educational institution, were the first to obtain permission for the Medical Study Program,” he said. He emphasized that the proposal for this study program must be supported by a complete proposal and in-depth study.
Meanwhile, the Chancellor of UNM, Husain Syam expressed his desire to have a comparative study at Undiksha because, for the Education Personnel Education Institute (LPTK) cluster, Undiksha was the first tertiary institution to have a medical education study program. “If so, it means we have to study at Undiksha. That’s first. Learn to be able to provide services to the community, especially at UNM, namely Medicine, as in Undiksha. Because of that I also don’t say Undiksha is below our grade, it’s the same movement. Because there are more in UNM, there are less, and vice versa,” he said.
He emphasized that his presence at Undiksha with a number of officials, starting from the Chair of the Senate, Deputy Chancellor, and Head of the Postgraduate Program showed his side’s seriousness in learning, to prepare various things in order to realize medical education study programs.
“We brought the whole group, the full team. This means that we seriously want to study at Undiksha,” he said.
The collaboration between Undiksha and UNM has been going on for a long time, especially in the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, namely Education and Teaching, Research, and Community Service. This collaboration continues to be improved in order to improve quality and competitive data, especially in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 and the era of globalization. In the future, efforts will be made to strengthen this collaboration to jointly improve the quality of graduates so that they become competitive, competitive, and high-quality in Human Resources. This is the commitment of Undiksha and UNM. (hms)
