Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) received a visit from the branch leadership (PC) of the Nahdlatul Ulama Teachers Association (Pergunu) Buleleng Regency, Tuesday (22/3/2022). The visit was in order to discuss cooperation in the field of Higher Education’s Tri Dharma.
The PC Pergunu Buleleng delegation was led by the chairman, H. Lewa Karma accompanied by the Advisory Board and members. His presence was received directly by the Vice Chancellor for Academic and Collaboration Undiksha Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.T.I accompanied by the Head of the Bureau of Academic, Student Affairs, Planning and Cooperation (AKPK), Drs. I Made Yasa, M.Pd.
At the meeting, Lewa Karma revealed that his presence at Undiksha was to establish friendship and introduce himself to the Rector. “Alhamdulillah, we have been well received by Deputy Chancellor I and also the AKPK Bureau Head,” he said.
Apart from that, he also wanted to discuss possible partnerships with Undiksha, one of which is in terms of improving the quality of human resources (HR) in PC Pergunu Buleleng. “We can build cooperation, for example for research, community, or service activities,” he continued.
It is also hoped that the policies owned by Undiksha can facilitate students in Madrasas who have underprivileged conditions to be able to study at Undiksha. “Because we are in a Madrasah school environment that has students who actually want to go to college, but because of their unlucky condition, many of them cannot enter,” he explained.
In addition, it is hoped that his presence at Undiksha will build synergies so that we can jointly build this nation through diversity and religious moderation. “In order to anticipate radicalism or deviant notions and Pergunu is ready to get involved and be involved,” he added.
Meanwhile, Vice Chancellor, Rasben Dantes expressed his appreciation for this visit. According to him, Undiksha and Pergunu have the same vision, which is to be of benefit to society for a better future. “Therefore, today we are discussing activities that we can do together,” he explained.
Delivered further, the essence of Undiksha as a state university is to contribute to being able to produce superior human resources. “I think Pergunu is the same as Undiksha, how does the NU Teachers Association also want to create or be involved in producing superior human resources,” he said.
Undiksha also provides support related to collaboration in the field of Higher Education’s Tri Dharma. Through this meeting, it is hoped that further programs can be formulated that can be carried out together. “What if later we do community service together? How will Pergunu contribute to Undiksha in terms of education and teaching who knows if we will have courses related to Islam and who knows we can involve friends from Pergunu to join in teaching here or other things,” he concluded.
